Tourists in head-on collision
25 November 2009, 12:52
Two European tourists paid a heavy price on Chapman's Peak scenic drive for thinking they were on the Italian Riveira, and driving on the right, but wrong, side of the road.
Drama unfolded on the newly-reopened Chapman's Peak Drive when the couple, from Spain, apparently driving a small hatchback crashed head-on into a BMW at around 9.45am.
A spokesman for the private ambulance service ER24, Tristan Wadeley, said the holiday-making couple had allegedly been driving on the incorrect side of the road.
