Boy tells of 'dirty' DVD and masturbation

His teacher put on a "dirty" DVD with a "naked man and woman" - that was when the boy, 14, turned and saw his teacher allegedly masturbating.
The boy on Monday testified in the Pretoria Sexual Offences Court against Steven Frank de Wet, 44, who was arrested in September and has pleaded not guilty to 12 charges of contravening the Sexual Offences Act, including charges of rape, exposure to pornography, and sexual assault.
It is alleged De Wet committed six of these charges against a 12-year-old pupil while a relief teacher at a school in Pretoria North between February and May, 2008.
The rest of the charges relate to the 14-year-old boy from a special school in Pretoria West where the accused also worked.
Now 15, the boy said De Wet came to his home one Friday asking if he could sleep over at De Wet's home so that they could go to the Pretoria Show the next day. De Wet lived in a Wendy house in his landlord's garden.
Later the older boy, who lived in the landlord's house, joined them. The three cycled to a liquor store, where the accused allegedly bought beer.
The boy said they stopped at a park where De Wet gave them beer to drink.
Later the two boys and the accused went to a video store where the older boy rented a porn DVD on behalf of De Wet. When the elder boy left, the boy and the teacher went inside the Wendy house to watch the DVD.
"We sat on the bed. It was a dirty movie, with a man and a woman without clothes," the boy testified.
De Wet was masturbating and put his other hand inside the boy's pants.
The boy felt uncomfortable and told the teacher he had to go home.
De Wet allegedly replied: "Sorry, sorry, have I done something wrong?"
The trial will continue in August.
